Kathryn Dowd, AuD – Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Dowd has practiced audiology for over 33 years. Her Doctorate in Audiology is from Salus University in Pennsylvania and her Masters is from University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina for audiology and hearing aid dispensing. Professional certifications include the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She is a member of the North Carolina AAA group, Association of Dispensing Audiology (ADA), and the Audiological Resource Association (ARA).

Dr. Dowd’s main interest is in identifying and remediating hearing loss that occurs from medical, genetic and drug related effects. She works closely with each person to succeed in hearing rehabilitation so that family relationships and communication with friends and outside contacts improve. Dr. Dowd states, “ When a person with a hearing loss is concerned about their communication problems, I will guide them through the period of adjustment with hearing aids to make sure they can hear better and are satisfied. I am excited to be able to provide our new unbundled service package”

Heather Wimberley, Practice Manager

Heather Wimberley is the practice manager for Hearing Solution Center. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Business at Florida Atlantic University. Her undergraduate degree in business is from Georgia Tech, where Ms. Wimberley played varsity tennis. Ms. Wimberley has held the same position of practice manager for Dr. Dowd’s practices of Tryon Hearing Center and Charlotte Audiology over the last 7 years.
Her interest in hearing healthcare has led her to become certified in Healthcare Administration.
